Head Start is a program of the US Dept. of Health & Human Services that provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services. These programs help build relationships with families that support family well-being and many other important areas. Preschool interventions are arguably one of the most important elements of support for families.
The children spend time in stimulating settings where they form good habits and enjoy playing with toys and working on tasks with classmates. Your child will leave Head Start more prepared for kindergarten, excited about learning, and ready to succeed.
Head Start children socialize with others, solve problems, and have other experiences which can help them become self-confident. The children also improve their listening and speaking skills. This experience leads to positive and large gains in vocabulary knowledge and receptive language skills during the preschool period, particularly for children with low achievement levels.
The program utilizes the Creative Curriculum along with weekly STEM activities in our dedicated STEM center utilizing science, technology, engineering and math in our dedicated STEM center. STEM develops children’s thinking, reasoning, creative and investigative skills.
